1:1That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we beheld and our hands handled, concerning the Word of life
Compare
-
1:2(And the life was manifested, and we have seen and testify and report to you the eternal life, which was with the Father and was manifested to us);
Compare
-
1:3That which we have seen and heard we report also to you that you also may have fellowship with us, and indeed our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ.
Compare
-
1:4And these things we write that our joy may be made full.
Compare
-
1:5And this is the message which we have heard from Him and announce to you, that God is light and in Him is no darkness at all.
Compare
-
1:6If we say that we have fellowship with Him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and are not practicing the truth;
Compare
-
1:7But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus His Son cleanses us from every sin.
Compare
-
1:8If we say that we do not have sin, we are deceiving ourselves, and the truth is not in us.
Compare
-
1:9If we confess our sins, He is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins and cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Compare
-
1:10If we say that we have not sinned, we make Him a liar, and His word is not in us.
Compare
-
2:1My little children, these things I write to you that you may not sin. And if anyone sins, we have an Advocate with the Father, Jesus Christ the Righteous;
Compare
-
2:2And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for those of the whole world.
Compare
-
2:3And in this we know that we know Him, if we keep His commandments.
Compare
-
2:4He who says, I know Him, and does not keep His commandments is a liar, and the truth is not in this one;
Compare
-
2:5But whoever keeps His word, truly in this one the love of God has been perfected. In this we know that we are in Him.
Compare
-
2:6He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk even as He walked.
Compare
-
2:7Beloved, I am not writing a new commandment to you but an old commandment, which you have had from the beginning; the old commandment is the word which you heard.
Compare
-
2:8Yet again a new commandment I am writing to you, which is true in Him and in you because the darkness is passing away and the true light is already shining.
Compare
-
2:9He who says he is in the light and yet hates his brother is in the darkness until now.
Compare
-
2:10He who loves his brother abides in the light, and there is no cause of stumbling in him;
Compare
-
2:11But he who hates his brother is in the darkness and walks in the darkness and does not know where he is going, because the darkness has blinded his eyes.
